Pacific Resins Inc. at 10
Pacific Resins Inc (PRI), a subsidiary of Resins Inc, recently held a simple and memorable celebration to commemorate its 10th-year existence in Philippine business.

The celebration started with a thanksgiving mass held at the Resins Inc. Training Room at 5 pm, followed by a dinner at Café Juanita in Pasig.
The beginnings of PRI can be traced back to January 22, 1950 when Pacific Products Inc. began operations as the first paint manufacturer in the Philippines under license from Finch Paint and Chemicals of Terrance, California. In 1963, the company integrated into the manufacture of synthetic resins under a licensing agreement from Archer Daniels Midland (later acquired by Ashland Chemicals of Ohio, USA.
In September 1995, the company sold its paint business to Imperial Chambers of England. Resins Inc bought PRI on August 20, 1998, and assumed the synthetic resin manufacturing and trading business.

Just before the anniversary dinner at Café Juanita in Barrio Kapitolyo, Pasig, Jinky Carlos, PRI CEO and managing director, introduced a short audio-visual presentation highlighting the company’s new tagline: ‘Designer Resins to suit your need ‘ and its mission to defend its leadership in selected markets. It also enumerated the company’s achievements in the market and in its operations such as PRIs’quality certification, its growing market share through excellent customer service, first exports, and transfer of production technology in 10 months without wasted batches.

PRI management acknowledged the employees’ passion for quality and teamwork, enabling them to produce 54 products and 13 product adaptations. Jinky Carlos thanked all those people who were with PRI at the beginning and those who moved to other companies. She specifically mentioned Ms Jet Velasco, PRI COO from 1998 to 2005, who was present at the celebration to receive a plaque of appreciation.
