‘ Love your job and the people you work with and learn from them. Also learn to be tech savvy.” These pieces of advice came from Moje Aquino, former personnel and general services supervisor of Resins Inc. from 1972 to 1981.

Moje came to Resins for a visit on June 25, 2009, together with her best friend Gina Camacho, former secretary to Ernesto E. Lichauco. In an interview with ikettle, she shared some learnings from her stint in the company and in her present work as an HR consultant.

She stressed “ One must have passion for his/her work. Learn from it; love the people you work with because your friendship with your fellow associates can extend even beyond the period of your retirement from the company, “ She did just that as she continued to nurture her friendship with Gina up to now.

In the information age, being tech savvy can make one more relevant and useful. Moje advices employees to learn more about the new technology and apply it in their work. She suggested that RI Chem use the Facebook to touch base with all resins alumni.

Moje graduated with a marketing economics degree at the University of the East. She then applied for a marketing or economics position at Johnson and Johnson, but instead the company put her at the HR Department, which she said was ‘not her type.”

She later applied for an HR job at Resins, and ended up handling personnel, communications, training and the company’s employee activities. Work also included teaching at San Beda for evening classes from 1975 to 1978.

The free shuttle service was an initial attraction for joining the company. “ I often saw the Resins bus at Sta Mesa where she lived and found such service convenient especially during typhoons or floodings.

Gina said she had a grand time in resins, enjoying the company of associates that she worked with. “ Sa kumpanya, walang distinction between ranks, keso manager o staff ka lang. We socialize,” she said.

Since 1997, she has been doing consultancy work in the field of team building, management training and communications, and assisting in enhancing HR systems in many companies.
