Innovative Housing Technology Using PLYCON
The foundation advocates for the use of this technology, which ensures the construction of affordable, durable, and resilient houses. The construction method employs fiber-cement plywood composite boards called PLYCON, laminated plywood lumber, and construction adhesives instead of nails. This approach merges the flexural strength of wood with the compressive strength of cement, resulting in homes that are cool, lightweight, and weather-resistant.
Key partners of the foundation include Resins Inc. and Chemserve Incorporated, which have pioneered an innovative housing technology and Plycon for building low-cost homes. This technology, invented by the late Meneleo Carlos Jr., former president of Resins Inc., focuses on addressing the country’s housing deficit, which currently stands at 6.5 million units.

The SEC certification, filed on May 18, 2024 was approved on June 14, 2024. It marks a significant step towards fulfilling the foundation’s mission of improving the lives of many Filipinos through innovative and sustainable housing solutions.
